IAG Cargo, the single business created following the merger of British Airways World Cargo and Iberia Cargo, today launched Cargo Connector, a UK service available to freight forwarders operating within the Heathrow catchment area with consignments of 300 kilos (about 661 pounds) or less, allowing forwarders to have small consignments picked up and delivered to the airport.
Freight forwarders do not have to arrange and pay for pickup of their consignments and do not have to arrange their own transportation for airport delivery, allowing for better vehicle and driver efficiency and eliminating potential wait times during busy periods, the company said.
