Atlas Air to Operate DHL Express Planes in Asia

Atlas Air, a subsidiary of Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, will provide operating service on intra-Asia routes for two new Boeing 767-300ERF aircraft owned by DHL Express beginning late in the first quarter 2013.

The new operation is an expansion of the company’s asset-light crew, maintenance and insurance service, which was launched in 2010. Atlas expects CMI to be a driver of company revenues and earnings and an improved business mix.

Atlas will operate the aircraft for sister company Polar Air Cargo Worldwide. The intra-Asia flights will be linked with Polar’s existing trans-Pacific all-cargo services for DHL and other customers.
