Air France-KLM, Europe's largest airline, swung to a $778 million operating profit in the fiscal second quarter from a $63.5 million loss a year ago on a strong recovery in cargo and passenger revenue and lower costs.
The Franco-Dutch carrier increased revenue 18.6 percent to almost $9 billion in the three months to Sept. 30.
The airline, which published detailed cargo figures Nov. 18, had net income of $391.5 million in the quarter against a year earlier loss of $198.5 million.

Air France KLM booked a first half operating profit of $599.4 million versus a loss of $733 million in the same period in 2009.
The carrier is forecasting a full year operating profit of $405 million.
