In a recent survey, general sounsel at major corporations prioritized the challenges facing their companies. First, obviously, was the uncertain economic climate. The ever-increasing cost of regulatory compliance placed second, undoubtedly the biggest challenge facing companies trading internationally. Previously, companies could expect the rules surrounding import-export compliance were limited to the movement of a given shipment.
