2013 will be a continued year of change. We will see even larger vessels call throughout North and Latin America as shipping lines cascade further tonnage into these markets. This will require some ports and terminals to invest further in infrastructure to be able to handle the bigger ships. This will be particularly true in Latin America.
Equally as important, this will mean increased requirements from shipping lines for operational capacity on key days in the market, and on increased berth production. This will provide an opportunity for differentiation among those terminal operators that can provide sufficiently equipped terminals, and high berth production.
