JEFFERSON CITY - Michelle Teel, Fulton, is the new head of the Missouri Department of Transportation's Multimodal Division. Teel has worked for MoDOT for more than 15 years, most recently as the Local Programs Administrator for the Design Division and the assistant director of the Motor Carrier Services Division.

In her new capacity, Teel will oversee the division responsible for administering state and federal programs that fund and support aviation, railroads, transit, waterways and freight development.

Teel has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and a master's degree in business administration from William Woods University in Fulton. She is a licensed professional engineer and is also certified as a professional traffic operations engineer.

I am excited to tackle this new position and look forward to advancing the programs and initiatives associated with the state's other transportation modes, Teel said.

She replaces Brian Weiler, who recently was named the director of aviation for the Springfield-Branson National Airport.
