Intra-Asia container operator Samudera Shipping Line reported increased container volume, revenue and profit for the second quarter.
The Singapore-listed company posted an after-tax profit of $7.5 million for the three months ending June 30, an increase of more than 300 percent year-over-year. Group revenue rose 11 percent to $129.5 million during the period, while volume increased 7.6 percent to 386,300 TEUs.
New services, the additional revenue generated by bunker surcharges and the sale of two vessels helped to boost company performance in the second quarter, Samudera said.
