CAGTC Announces Five New Board Members; Appoints New Executive Director

WASHINGTON, DC (April 23, 2015) – The Coalition for America’s Gateways and Trade Corridors (CAGTC) today welcomed five new Board Members and installed Elaine Nessle as Executive Director.

CAGTC membership elected five new Board members. Joining CAGTC’s Board are:

Ø Paul Anderson, Port Director, Port of Tampa Bay

Ø Gary Gallegos, Executive Director, San Diego Association of Governments

Ø Dr. J. Lee Hutchins Jr., Director of Freight Logistics and Planning, AECOM

Ø Joseph Szabo, Senior Fellow, Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning

Ø Rachel Vandenberg, National Director, Ports and Intermodal, Dewberry

“CAGTC has never been more relevant in advancing the nation’s freight network and the Board’s leadership is instrumental to our success as a multimodal coalition,” said Coalition Chairman Sharon Neely. “We are pleased to have these five outstanding transportation leaders join the CAGTC Board. In welcoming Elaine Nessle to her new role as Executive Director, we offer thanks and gratitude to Leslie Blakey for her strong leadership in guiding and growing CAGTC into a national advocacy organization.”

The Board, which consists of 16 members representing the Coalition’s geographic and organizational diversity, is tasked with the development of CAGTC policy and is frequently called upon to offer guidance and perspective from their own organizations.

Leslie Blakey, who has served as Executive Director since CAGTC’s creation in 2001, is transitioning from her role, but will remain a Board officer, providing counsel and strategy to the Coalition.
