Hong Kong’s Census and Statistics Department reported the volume of exports of goods in November 2012 increased by 10.2 percent, and the volume of imports of goods rose by 7.6 percent, compared with the same month in 2011.
In the first 11 months of 2012, the volume of goods exports fell by 1.3 percent, and the volume of goods imports inched up by 0.1 percent compared with the same period the previous year.
In November, exports to mainland China recorded a double-digit jump of 19.4 percent, and exports to Japan increased by 9.4 percent. Exports to the U.S., Germany and Taiwan fell, however, by 1.1 percent, 10.7 percent and 11.9 percent, respectively.
