BDP International (BDP), one of the world’s largest privately owned logistics and transportation companies, today celebrated the tenth anniversary of its operations in the Republic of Korea.

During the last decade, BDP Korea has grown to become one of the company’s strongest Asian units and a key part of its future growth plans.

BDP Korea started with a staff of 14 a decade ago and has grown to a team of 58 today. Its operations have expanded into three major locations, Seoul, Busan and Incheon.

The company serves many of Korea’s leading companies, especially those in the chemical, petrochemical, oil and gas and manufacturing sectors.

“Our Korean business is set for a period of sustained growth in the decade to come,” said Mike Andaloro, Global Chief Operations Officer.

“Korea is one of the world’s most open economies and the Government has a strong commitment to free trade. The recently concluded FTAs with countries such as China, Canada and Vietnam represent a major boost to the outlook for trade volumes in and out of Korea. These new FTAs mean Korea now has FTA agreements with markets that represent an impressive 73 percent of the world’s GDP.[i]”

“BDP welcomes Korea’s commitment to free trade and we are confident it will lead to new opportunities for BDP Korea.”
“BDP has plans to double our business by 2018, and we expect our Korean business to be a major contributor to this growth. Our strategy is to invest in the skills and knowledge of our Korean staff by providing them with opportunities to advance their professional education. With the best trained and motivated staff BDP Korea will be able to offer an unmatched level of customer service.”

“We are proud to have been part of the local business community for ten years, and we expect the next decade to be even bigger and better for BDP in Korea,” JD Ko, Managing Director - Korea said.
