DAYTON, OHIO … Dayton Freight Lines, Inc. is proud to announce the celebration of its 30th anniversary. On April 11, 1981, Tom Cronin started the Company with six employees, two desks, a truck and a dream. The past thirty years have seen Dayton Freight grow to a well-respected, award winning, regional LTL company with 1,000 trucks, 40 Service Centers and over 2,500 employees.

Brothers Tom and Mike Cronin oversee the Company’s operations, with revenues over $250 million. DFL’s coverage extends to 11 Midwest states where customers receive 1 or 2 day delivery. In collaboration with other regional carriers, DFL’s service area extends to the entire United States, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Guam.

The guiding principle behind DFL’s success is summed up in its Corporate Vision Statement: “Delivering Value Today … Driving The Standard For Tomorrow.” This statement translates into doing the very best they can – each and every day – to bring real value to customers in the way of on-time pickups and deliveries, error free shipping, ongoing fleet maintenance and the use of technology in virtually every phase of the transportation process.

It also means planning for the future in terms of extensive employee training, growing their asset-based Service Center network and investing in those processes that will deliver real-time results to their customers.

“This type of milestone is just not possible without the help and support of our employees, customers, vendors and strategic partners,” says Tom Cronin. “All of these people have played an important part in our growth by believing in ‘The Dayton Difference.’ We truly are committed to being flexible, and to responding to our customers in a way that makes sense for their supply chain needs.”

As in past years, Dayton Freight received a large number of customer awards in 2011, including those from Lowe’s, Scotts, Moen, Navistar and Johnson Controls. Dayton Freight also received Logistics Management’s prestigious Quest for Quality Award in the Midwest/North Central Region, and was recently awarded their fourth consecutive NASSTRAC Midwest Carrier of the Year Award.
