BAe-146 feeder aircraft to serve renewed contract with Australian Air Express

Cobham Aviation Services Australia bought three regional aircraft from BAE Systems after leasing them for the past 15 years.

The purchase of the three BAe 146s comes as Cobham renewed a $91 million air freight contract with Australian air Express. Cobham has been providing air crew and maintenance support for the aircraft. AaE, Australia’s leading air freight provider, is jointly owned by Qantas and Australia Post.

The aircraft carry 20,000 tonnes of freight every year on high-capacity, high-priority overnight services linking Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.
