FedEx Express Opens Facility in Dubai

FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp., has opened a new facility in Al Garhoud in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to meet increased shipping demand and expand the company’s presence in the Middle East.

The 59,000 square foot facility was inaugurated Nov. 6 by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saee Al Maktoum, president of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, chairman of Dubai Airports, chairman and chief executive of Emirates Airline & Group; Gerald P. Leary, president of FedEx Express Europe, Middle East, Indian subcontinent and Africa, and David Ross, senior vice president of FedEx Express Middle East, Indian subcontinent and Africa operations.

It is the fourth and largest FedEx station in the UAE, with processing systems that can sort up to 3,000 packages per hour.
