Finnish air freight carrier Finnair Cargo has used Route Exchange, an online platform where airports and airlines can exchange data and information regarding potential new routes, to open a new base in Brussels.
In March, Finnair Cargo will commence weekly flights via its new Brussels hub, connecting the Belgian capital with Finnair’s Helsinki hub, New York’s JFK and new destination Chicago O’Hare.
"Finnair Cargo's target is to become one of the top five cargo carriers between Europe and Northeast Asia, and the opening of Brussels cargo hub to strengthen our cargo service via Helsinki is an important step in this vision," said Juha Järvinen, managing director of Finnair Cargo, in a written statement.
