Etihad Cargo to Launch Abu Dhabi-Guangzhou Service

Etihad Airways’ first A330-200 freighter aircraft on the runway at Airbus in Toulouse before departing for Abu Dhabi in August 2010.

Etihad Cargo, the cargo division of Etihad Airways, will launch a new weekly freight operation from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to Guangzhou, China, effective Jan. 17.

The new cargo service will operate every Thursday using an Airbus A330-200F freighter, with a capacity of 68 metric tons.

“China is a strategically important market for Etihad Cargo, and the new Guangzhou-Abu Dhabi freighter service will allow us to capitalize on the strong export demand coming out of southern China,” said Kevin Knight, Etihad Airways chief strategy and planning officer, in a written statement.
