Direct ChassisLink Inc.

Based in Charlotte, NC, Direct ChassisLink maintains and repairs containers, chassis and refrigeration unit generator sets (gensets) for ocean carriers, motor carriers, beneficial cargo owners, domestic shippers and NVOCCs (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers). With over 450 locations on or near key port facilities and intermodal hubs throughout the U.S., DCLI owned or managed more than 230,000 marine and domestic chassis in 2018-9, when DCLI became the largest provider of intermodal equipment in the industry.

For ocean carriers, DCLI provides access to a full range of high-quality equipment that is continually updated. DCLI’s technology, which ensures that the right number of chassis are in the right place within the timeframe required by customers, also delivers accurate billing, customized reporting and chassis-centric detail consistent with customer contracts. For drayage motor carriers, DCLI provides access to a dependable fleet of well-maintained chassis equipment, and creative pricing and billing options that align with customers’ needs. For NVOCCs, DCLI provides well-maintained chassis, and access to accurate tracking information. For domestic US shippers, DCLI provides 100 Start/Stop locations on Class 1 railroads; customized reports to help manage their business; personalized account management; and accurate invoicing with chassis-centric detail.

According to DCLI, its customers improve their cash flow through shorter billing cycles, and benefit from a discounted pricing structure, based on their volumes. DCLI also has the ability to invoice certain moves to either the ocean carrier or the motor carrier as directed. This process allows for move identification before out-gate to ensure proper billing designation.
