Third-party logistics company Choptank Transport is launching a refrigerated less-than-truckload division, bolstering its temperature-controlled supply chain services.
The Preston, Md.-based company said it plans a phased roll out of nationwide outbound LTL delivery, starting in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic this spring.
Wayne Hardee, director of the new division, said refrigerated LTL services are in high demand from Choptank’s temperature-controlled truckload shippers.
Choptank is a fast-growing 3PL specializing in refrigerated freight. The company has 12,500 carriers under contract and maintains its own fleet of trucks as well.
