SDV Acquires Majority Stake In Getco

Jamaica, NY - SDV acquires an 80% majority stake in Getco, an Italian multimodal transport operator founded in 1977 headquartered in Milan, Italy. Getco offers ocean consolidation services out of Livorno. With annual revenues of € 15 million and 8,000 TEUs, Getco strength is in ocean freight.

“The arrival of SDV will allow the company to support Getco’s growth while offering many possibilities to our employees”, said Guido Noé, CEO of Getco. “I wish to accompany these developments during the next two years in order to achieve this transition.”

“Getco enhances our maritime expertise in Italy” confirms Henri Le Gouis, SDV CEO of the Western European area. “Therefore, our leadership is reinforced in the French Overseas Territories and in the Middle East. This shareholding follows the buyback of Fast Italy a few months ago and confirms the commitment to achieve better positioning in these main routes out of Italy. This move is part of a major external growth policy aimed at strengthening SDV’s ocean freight offerings in all European countries.”
