Two More Motor Carriers Get Cross-Border Approval

Two more motor carriers from Mexico have received operating authority to participate in the cross-border pilot program.

GCC Transportes, a subsidiary of the multinational Mexican-owned, Mexican-domiciled Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua, received the green light in October.

GCC will operate eight trucks and eight drivers in the program. GCC Transportes’ parent company is one of the world’s largest cement manufacturers, with plants and facilities worldwide.

Transportes Monteblanco also received approval for the program. It will have two trucks and four drivers in the program.

The two carriers will be given credit for participation in the 2007 cross-border demonstration program and will be granted permanent operating authority sooner than usual.
