The Maritime Administration on Thursday announced three public meetings in February 2011 to gather local views to shape future transportation and investment policy for the Great Lakes.
The “town hall” style meetings are intended as a forum for carriers, shippers, ports and the environmental community to speak about a range of issues affecting the Great Lakes, and options for revitalizing the region.
Marad hired ABS Consulting of Houston to analyze investment options for upgrading or refitting vessels and shore infrastructure to meet new and more stringent environmental regulations.
The meetings are scheduled to be held in Cleveland on Feb. 15, 2011, on Feb. 22 in Duluth, Minn., and Chicago on Feb. 22.
