US Expands Duty-Free Zones Under Israel Trade Pact

The U.S. Trade Representative has modified the designation of Al Minya, Alexandria, Beni Suief, Central Delta, Greater Cairo and Suez Canal zones in Egypt under the U.S.-Israel Free Trade Area Implementation Act to allow all facilities in these zones to potentially export goods duty-free to the U.S.

The modification would also clarify and, in some cases, adjust the geographic boundaries of the qualifying industrial zones.

Under the IFTA Act, articles of QIZs encompassing portions of Israel and Jordan or Israel and Egypt are eligible to receive duty-free treatment.
