According to JOC annual ranking of the Top 50 Global Container Ports 9 of the top 10 were located in Asia, and 7 of the top 10 were from China.  In descending order, they were Shanghai, SingaporeNingbo-Zhoushan, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Busan (Korea), Hong Kong, Qingdao,  Tianjin. The only exception was Jebel Ali Port in Dubai, UAE, which ranked 10th.

Commentary

Better connectivity through improved infrastructure and technology has not only opened large markets in Asia, it has has also changed the manner and mix of freight.
