EUITAS

Hugh Stevenson was appointed nonexecutive director and chairman designate of Equitas Holdings Ltd. and its reinsurance companies. The board of Equitas intends to appoint Mr. Stevenson chairman of Equitas on Nov. 1, 1998.Equitas was formed to reinsure, and then close down, the property/casualty liabilities incurred by Lloyd's syndicates for '92 and earlier years.

David Newbigging, who had said he wished to step down as Equitas' chairman, will relinquish the post on Oct. 31, 1998. Mr. Stevenson had been chairman of Mercury Asset Management Corp. PLC since 1992.

RISK CAPITAL HOLDINGS INC.

Mark D. Mosca, currently president, was given the added post of chief executive. Mr. Mosca has been with the company since its formation in 1995 as president and on its board of directors, and as president and chief executive of Risk Capital Reinsurance Co., the wholly owned operating subsidiary of the company.

TRANSAMERICA CORP.

Mark McEachen was named president of Transamerica Asset Management, a unit of Transameria's life insurance company.

Mr. McEachen had been vice president and treasurer of Transamerica Corp. Before joining in '96, he was with Chrysler for 14 years.

ZURICH GROUP

Robert N. Darby Jr. joined Centre Reinsurance, a unit of Zurich Reinsurance, in its San Francisco office as vice president of underwriting.

Mr. Darby has been a principal at Tillinghast-Towers Perrin for the past six years. Before that, he was a consulting actuary for Watson Wyatt Worldwide.

CRUMP GROUP

David Cregger joined as manager of two northwest offices of this insurance broker. Mr. Cregger has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, especially in casualty and professional liability lines.

Kay Stephenson joined Crump Insurance Services of Atlanta as vice president. She has been in the insurance field for more than 20 years.
