Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics, the joint Swedish-Norwegian roll-on, roll-off carrier, is expanding its ocean services from North America to the Middle East due to a strengthening of demand in the region.
WWL said Monday it has already increased the frequency of sailings in March from North America to the Middle East from one voyage per month to two or three sailings per month.
The ro-ro ships serving this route can accommodate high and heavy as well as breakbulk cargo and boats, in addition to cars.
WWL said it has added direct calls on the route to ports in Umm Qasr, Iraq, and Karachi, Pakistan. These new port calls are in addition to calls at: Beirut, Lebanon; Aqaba, Jordan; Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; Dammam, Saudi Arabia; Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates; and Kuwait.
WWL said it is currently accepting bookings made up to thee months in advance of sailings for its enhanced North America-Middle East ocean service.
