United Arab Shipping launches Asia-Mid-East service

United Arab Shipping Co. announced today that it is launching a new container service connecting Southeast Asia with the Arabian Gulf.

The new service, Asia Gulf Express (AGX), will deploy three cellular container vessels, each with an effective capacity of approximately 1,200 TEUs. The service will begin in the second half of February.

Ports of call will be: Singapore, Port Kelang, Jebel Ali, Khor Fakkan, and Singapore. The AGX service will connect with the line's other services at Singapore, providing connections to and from ports in northern Asia.

The added capacity help it meet the increased needs of key clients both in the Far East and Middle East, said UASC's president and chief executive, Abdullah Mady Al-Mady, in a statement.
