PHILIPPINES TO SELL

NATIONAL STEEL STAKE

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippines intends to sell 65 percent equity in National Steel Corp. by May 1994 to retire some of its foreign and domestic debt and to partly finance its expansion program, the state National Development Co. (NDC) said.

The privatization of National Steel was recommended by NDC financial advisers over the weekend.

MISSISSIPPI AND TAIWAN

AGREE ON INVESTMENTS

JACKSON, Miss. - The Importers and Exporters Association of Taipei and the Mississippi Department of Economic and Community Development signed an agreement Monday that calls for increased cooperation in the fields of import- export, investment, business information and other commercial activities.

Masters Industries, a furniture manufacturer, earlier this year became the first Taiwanese investment in Mississippi.
