SWEDE INVENTS TOOL TO TRIM HORSE HOOVES

A Swedish inventor has developed an electric tool to trim the hooves of a horse before they are shod.

The cutting device, marketed by Gothenburg-based Tooling Promotion, is mounted on an ordinary Bosch grinding machine. Intended for racetracks, stud farms and farriers, it is said to be a much quicker way of trimming a hoof, and a much more comfortable procedure for the horse than the knife and hammer method. The trimming device is also recommended for use on unshod horses to bevel the edges.
