OOCL has christened its new 13,208 20-foot-equivalent unit vessel, which is the sixth of 10 new mega vessels ordered by the container line from Samsung Heavy Industries.
The board of directors of Compañía Sud Americana de Vapores has approved an investment plan of $570 million to acquire seven new container ships and to prepay $258 million of its debt.
At a naming ceremony at the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard on Geojoe Island in South Korea, OOCL unveiled its second 13,208-TEU mega-vessel to join its fleet this year.
