Saporito to manage N.J. Marine Terminal

The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey has named Andrew Saporito, a 22-year port veteran, as manager of the New Jersey Marine Terminal.

In his new position, Saporito manages the operations, maintenance, construction and tenant service activities for the 2,300-acre facility. The terminal includes Port Newark, the Elizabeth-Port Authority Marine Terminal and the Auto Marine Terminal. He oversees a staff of 85 employees.

Saporito replaces Ken Spahn, who has moved to another management position in the Port Commerce Department, a spokesman for the port said.

Saporito began his career at the Port Authority in 1981. He joined the Port Commerce Department in 1986, and has held management positions in port sales, leasing, facility operations and management. In 2001, he was appointed assistant manager of the New Jersey Marine Terminals.
