PEOPLE - MARITIME REYNOLDS FILLS VP SLOT AT P&O

Martyn L.C. Reynolds was named vice president of relay trade management at P& O Containers (TFL) Ltd.

The company, which operates the trans-Atlantic liner service known as Trans Freight Lines,is a unit of London-based ship line P&O Containers Ltd. Mr. Reynolds' duties involve the carrier's transshipment or relay services, which distribute cargo to and from markets in Africa, the Middle East and Asia.He is responsible for forecasting and budgeting all relay trade activity managed in the United States, developing new relay trade routes, setting price policy and volume and market share objectives, and negotiating rates and service levels with other carriers that distribute cargo for Trans Freight Lines.

Mr. Reynolds was senior vice president, sales and marketing at McAllister Brothers Inc., a New York-based towing company. Before that he spent more than 12 years in various positions at Barber Steamship Lines Inc.

He reports to Christopher J. Rankin, chief executive officer.

Mr. Reynolds replaced Edmund Filus. Mr. Filus was transferred to London, where he is general sales manager for the company's Europe-Far East service.

CARE SHIPPING INC. (Houston) - W.D. "Bill" Nulph was named senior account executive in the shipping agent's sales department.

He was was sales manager for Sea- Land Service Inc.'s service between Europe and the U.S. Gulf.
