OLSSON TO BECOME PRESIDENT OF WALLENIUS

Christer Olsson, executive vice president of Wallenius Lines AB, will be appointed presi- dent of the Swedish company in October.

Wallenius Lines, headquartered in Stockholm, is the largest non-Japanese line specializing in the transportation of cars and trucks.Mr. Olsson, who joined Wallenius in 1984, takes over from Arne Koch who retires as president after 10 years, the company announced in a statement Friday.

However, Mr. Koch will remain on the boards of Wallenius Lines and Argonaut AB, the Swedish tanker operator in which Wallenius is a major shareholder.

Arne Koch is the brother of Bengt Koch who resigned recently as president of Atlantic Container Line soon after it was taken over by the Swedish transport group Bilspedition AB. Wallenius sold its stake in ACL last y ear.

Mr. Olsson worked for Swedish American Line, Brostrom Shipping Co. and Atlantic Container Line before joining Wallenius.

Wallenius, a privately owned company, operates a fleet of 26 vessels and has a dominant position in the Europe-Far East trades and on the North Atlantic, but does not participate in the car trade market across the Pacific.

Nils-Erik Kurten, vice president marketing, will take over as executive vice president with responsibility for the marketing and operations division.
