OAKLAND PORT APPROVES TERMINAL SWITCH

The Oakland Port Commission approved an agreement to change terminals for the Tricontinental Services group of German and South Korean shipping lines.

Tricontinental consists of Cho Yang Shipping Co. of Korea and DSR-Senator Lines, a German partnership between Senator Linie and Deutsche Seereederie

Rostock. The agreement, which lasts until December 1995, sets a goal of 40,000 annual loaded containers, with the port providing more wharfage and dockage discounts if the goal is achieved.

The consortium's 24 containerships will base at the port's Charles Howard Terminal, with Stevedoring Services of America as the terminal operator. Previously, the lines had operated out of Sea-Land Service Inc.'s terminal.
