NVO files complaint against Fesco line

WASHINGTON -- Trans-Net, Inc., an Issaquah, Wash., non-vessel-operating common carrier, has filed a complaint with the Federal Maritime Commission charging Fesco Ocean Management Ltd., a subsidiary of Far Eastern Shipping Co., with numerous violations of the Shipping Act.

Among other charges, Trans-Net alleges that Fesco Ocean Management failed to file a connecting carrier agreement with P&O Nedlloyd; provided services at less-than tariff rates, and advertised direct service to Russian ports when cargo was in fact transshipped at Busan, South Korea.

Fesco Ocean Management also allegedly discriminated again Trans-Net in its capacity as an NVOCC.

Trans-Net is seeking cease and desist orders from the FMC, plus unspecified financial reparations for damages.
