Massport to develop waterfront

The Massachusetts Port Authority has issued a request for proposals for the maritime industrial development of property in Charlestown, Mass.

The waterfront parcel occupies a portion of the Medford Street Terminal, and includes the former Revere Sugar Refinery and Somerville Lumber warehouse properties.

The entire site is approximately 8.44 acres and includes a paved surface, a gravel area, a dock serving a deep-water berth, and a warehouse/office building. Two abutting parcels, consisting of approximately 6.6 acres, may be offered as option parcels for future development.

The deadline for responses to the request are due to Massport by 12 p.m. on Jan. 30, 2004 and should be directed to Pamela Reed, manager, maritime leasing, Massachusetts Port Authority, One Harborside Drive, East Boston, Mass., 02128-2909.
