SEA-BARGE GROUP PLANS

TO BOOST SERVICE IN '92

Marine Transportation Services Sea-Barge Group Inc., a ship line serving Puerto Rico and Panama, said it expects to add ships in 1992 to boost the capacity and frequency of its service.

Sea-Barge moved more containers during the last three months of 1991 than during any other quarter in its seven-year history. The carrier sails between Puerto Rico and Miami and Jacksonville, Fla., and between Panama and New Orleans.

Tidewater Inc., a New Orleans-based provider of ships for the offshore oil industry, recently became a majority shareholder in Sea-Barge.

APL, FREIGHT FORWARDER

TEAM UP ELECTRONICALLY

OAKLAND, Calif. - American President Lines Ltd. said it has established an electronic trading partner agreement with BDP Inc., a freight forwarder in Philadelphia.

Under the agreement, BDP electronically sends customers' shipping instructions to APL.

The ship line processes the instructions and returns electronically to BDP a bill of lading or invoice.
