The Port of Los Angeles said it will extend the concourse at its World Cruise Center by 225 feet.

This will enhance accommodations for larger cruise vessels and increased passenger traffic. Major cruise operators, including Carnival Cruise Lines, Seabourn Cruise Lines and the new Crystal Cruise Lines division of Tokyo-based Nippon Yusen Kaisha, are sending larger ships to Los Angeles this year or launching new service to the port. The World Cruise Center saw 580,778 cruise passengers in 1989, a 13.1 percent increase over 1988.
