Container Ship Sinks Off China; 11 Dead, 2 Missing

The container ship Guangyangxingang capsized and sank off the east coast of China on Monday evening, killing at least 11 crewmembers, the Associated Press reports. One crewmember was rescued by helicopter, and another two are still missing.

Rescue officials in Yantai in the Shangdong province said two rescue vessels and a helicopter are today searching for the missing crewmembers.

The ship was traveling from the northern coastal city of Tianjin to the city of Taizhou in the Zhejiang province when it capsized northeast of Longkou in Shangdong amid strong winds.
