MSC to Adjust Andes Service, Raise Rates

Mediterranean Shipping Co. will adjust its Andes Service to include the Port of Coronel in Chile.

From CSAV Tortel, voyage 1310E/1310W, onwards, the call of this service in the VIII region will be in the Coronel port, carrying out all operations of its vessels considering discharge and loading. The estimated time of arrival of this ship is on April 18.

Additionally, MSC will increase rates on several trade lanes in April, May and June:

  • Starting April 1, from Asia to the Red Sea areas, the rate increase for all cargo will be $500 per 20-foot-equivalent unit.
  • Effective May 1, for all cargo from the Mediterranean and the Black Sea areas to Mexico and Canada’s east and west coasts, the hike will be $250 per 20-foot container and $300 per 40-foot container.
  • Also beginning May 1, for all Capricorn Service cargo from Southeast Asia to Australia, the increase will be $200 per TEU.
  • Effective June 1, for all cargo from the Adriatic, including Albania, Bosnia, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia, to the U.S., the hike will be $250 per 20-foot container and $300 per 40-foot container.
