CMA CGM launches new advertising campaign in the US

The CMA CGM Group is pleased to announce the launching of its new advertising campaign in the US.

Present in the US since 1997, and based in Norfolk, Virginia, CMA CGM has continuously expanded its presence in the country. New lines have been launched, new port calls have been touched. By the end of 2015, 741 persons will be working directly for the Group in the US - twice the number as by the end of 2014.

Key player for the US trades, the CMA CGM Group has decided to mediatize its role and its expertise as a leading worldwide shipping group. By launching its new advertising campaign in the country, the Group aims to valorize its brand and its role as a container carrier in a globalized economy.

In 2014, over 30 million TEU containers were handled in the US. CMA CGM, one of the top 5 carriers in the country, is proud to be an active of the American commerce. 


CMA CGM, a leading worldwide shipping group, was founded in 1978 and led by Jacques R. Saadé, and has been present in the US since 1997.

Its 465 vessels call more than 400 ports in the world, on all 5 continents. In 2014, they carried 12.2 million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units). In 2014, the company transported around 1.7 million TEUs in and out the US.

With a presence in 160 countries, through its 655 agencies network, the Group employs 20,000 people worldwide, including 2,400 in its headquarter in Marseilles and 750 in the USA.  

CMA CGM America has grown and developed 6 agencies, including its head office based in Norfolk, VA. Around 20 of the Group’s services call 61 one ports in the country. CMA CGM plans to increase its development in the US through the launching of new services, the signature of new agreements and investments in terminals during the years to come.
