APL appoints Japan managing director

APL on Friday said it appointed Koichi Maeda as managing director of its Japan business, effective July 1.

Maeda, who joined APL in 1987, will oversee all aspects of operations in Japan from the company's regional base in Tokyo.

He most recently served as director of APL Japan's Customer Facing Group. His career includes senior positions in human resources, marketing, business planning and systems co-ordination.

Maeda succeeds Jim McAdam, who has been promoted to senior vice president for business solutions with APL's parent, Neptune Orient Lines.
