Agility Reports Third Quarter Profit Rose 21 Percent

Logistics provider Agility recently reported profit in the third quarter was 9.8 million Kuwaiti dinars (about US $34.7 million), jumping 21 percent from $28.4 million in the third quarter of 2011.

Quarterly revenue was $1.3 billion, increasing year-over-year from $1.2 billion.

The continuing eurozone crisis, slow recovery in the Americas and a relative slowdown in China affected Agility’s performance, according to Tarek Sultan, chairman and managing director.

However, reinvigorated sales and strong presence in emerging markets contributed to the positive results in 2012, Sultan said.
