GENCO Selected to Provide Transportation Consulting Support for a Dedicated Fleet Carrier Contract

PITTSBURGH, Pa. and GREEN BAY, Wis. – December 18, 2013 – GENCO, the leader in delivering product lifecycle logisticssm solutions, announced today was selected by Long Lake Supply Chain Solutions to provide transportation consulting services for a dedicated fleet carrier contract. GENCO’s Transportation Logistics team brought its hands-on experience in private fleet operations and knowledge of today's marketplace to the project, providing up-to-the-minute market information on line haul, fuel surcharge, other accessorial and equipment costs. GENCO also provided operational expertise and focus to Long Lake Supply Chain Solutions’ customer’s negotiating strategy.

Through fleet benchmarking, GENCO defined 15 specific areas in the contract that should remain in place or be adjusted to the standards in the marketplace. As part of the evaluation, GENCO determined that the primary area for savings was in revising the fuel surcharge program with the carrier, which represented approximately five percent savings in the customer’s fleet cost.
