WASHINGTON, DC -The Women's International Shipping and Trading Association of the USA (WISTA USA) has announced its plans to hold its Annual General Meeting in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on April 15th at the Riverside Hotel. In addition to Association business, the delegates will hear from industry experts on current critical issues, especially industry sustainability issues including the environment, workforce, economics and other elements.

WISTA members are in the forefront of current industry topics, stated WISTA USA President Jeanne Grasso, Partner at Blank Rome LLP. Our concerns about sustainability match global concerns. We look forward to hearing from our panel of experts and working as an organization on sustainability commitments and goals. Rear Admiral Mary E. Landry, Commander, 8th U.S. Coast Guard District, is the special guest speaker at the annual meeting.

This will be the first time that WISTA USA has held its annual meeting in Florida. We are delighted that WISTA USA has chosen Florida to hold its Annual General Meeting, observed Elaine Heldewier, Environmental Director for Carnival Cruise Lines and President of WISTA USA's Florida Chapter. While we are a relatively new Chapter in the WISTA organization, we have a robust and engaged membership that is committed to participating in the goals of WISTA both nationally and internationally.

The one day conference will be followed by a shipboard visit of environmental equipment in use on the Carnival Imagination.

WISTA is an international organization for women in management level positions involved in the maritime transportation business and related trades, worldwide. WISTA USA has over 200 members.
