Dick Metzler, president of the Transportation Marketing and Sales Association, has more than 25 years of experience in senior leadership roles within the transportation and logistics industry. At present, he is involved with private equity, venture capital and other investments within the industry as an outside board director and as an industry advisor on various active investments.

Previously, Dick was the chief commercial officer of Greatwide Logistics Services. His duties and responsibilities included sales, marketing, mergers and acquisitions, and strategy. He has completed three acquisitions and been involved in the evaluation and completion of hundreds of others. He has established the Greatwide brand implementation, the implementation of a comprehensive sales process and complete go-to-market marketing campaign. Prior to joining Greatwide, Dick was executive vice president of marketing for DHL, where he launched the DHL brand in the U.S. and throughout The Americas. Prior to DHL, Dick served as CEO for APL Logistics. He also held senior management positions with GE Capital/TIP, TNT Express in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Dick started his career at FedEx where he held several senior positions in sales and marketing leadership within the United States and Europe and was the vice president and general manager of FedEx Logistics.
