Geodis Wilson Selects CargoWise and ediEnterprise Platform

Sydney, Australia, December 17, 2010 — CargoWise®, a globally recognized technology supplier for logistics service providers, recently signed a major agreement with global multimodal transport and logistics provider, Geodis Wilson, to implement its global logistics product ediEnterprise.

In winning one of the most fiercely contested and most comprehensive product selection processes against 18 other vendors, ediEnterprise becomes the core component for Geodis Wilson’s “NextGen” logistics management project. The new system is key to simplifying and automating the operations planning, freight, customs clearance, logistics, operations, billing and customer functions across Geodis Wilson’s global business. ediEnterprise’s underlying single database, single file and “Only Enter Data Once” (OEDO) design delivers transparent information flows and operational efficiencies required by Geodis and its customers. In total, Geodis Group will be investing 20 million euros into this project.

According to Jean-Louis Demeulenaere, CEO of Geodis Group: “This cooperation is a strategic keystone to transform Geodis Wilson into one of the world’s leading players in global freight forwarding.”

“We were looking for the best, currently available operating system in the market,” said Hakan Nilsson, Chief Information Officer at Geodis Wilson. “More precisely, we were focusing on the future capabilities of different products and service providers, their flexibility and the potential speed of innovation. In other words, we were looking for a partnership that enables us to position Geodis technically ahead of the market, both in the near future and also in the long run.”

CargoWise CEO, Richard White said: “The Geodis Wilson agreement, along with several other major deals in ANZ, USA and EU, confirms CargoWise’s leading position in the global logistics market.”
