Argix Direct opens new facility in New Jersey

Argix Direct, which provides expedited time-definite delivery to retail stores, said it opened a 122,000-square foot store delivery terminal in Ridgefield, N.J. to service retail stores in the Northeast.

The facility replaces a smaller operation in North Bergen, N.J. and will have the capacity to receive, process, and dispatch 15 million cartons per year.

Jamesburg, N.J.-based Argix, which describes itself as a parcel delivery company, picks up retail inventory from multiple vendors on behalf of retailers such as Barnes & Noble, Ann Taylor and others, consolidates it into deliverable parcels at its facilities, and then delivers those parcels directly to retail stores pursuant to specific time windows. The new Ridgefield facility will use 1,300 feet of fully automated conveyor systems with the capability of scanning merchandise into its systems.

The opening of the facility positions Argix to handle additional internationally- and domestically-sourced merchandise which will enter its network through its Southgate, Calif. Retail Sort Center, slated to open in January.
