DEEP-FREEZE ASSIGNMENT

DEEP-FREEZE ASSIGNMENT

As temperatures dip below freezing and you're tempted to complain, consider the job that Liliana Labra just began.

Labra, a mother of three, left Santiago, Chile, this week to take up a three-month assignment managing the only bank in Antarctica, Reuters reports. She's the first woman to hold the job at the branch of Banco de Credito e Inversiones at a Chilean Air Force base in Antarctica. She's also the only employee at the branch.

Labra admitted to being ''a little scared,'' but said her job is a challenge that will also open doors for other women.

''I hope I do not freeze,'' she added.
