CONSUMER PRICES RISE 0.3 PERCENT IN SWITZERLAND

Swiss consumer prices rose 0.3 percent in August from July and increased 2.0 percent on the year, the Swiss Statistics Office said Tuesday.

In July, the price index contracted 0.1 percent from the previous month, but expanded by 2.0 percent from a year earlier.The August index came to 102.9, the office said.

The Swiss National Bank expects the annual average inflation rate to come to 2.0 percent by the end of the year.
