Cirone Named Vice President of Chlorine Institute

ARLINGTON, Va. (Sept. 7, 2010) – Therese M. “Terry” Cirone has been named vice president of health, environment, safety and security of The Chlorine Institute, Inc. (CI), which is the trade association that supports the chlor-alkali industry and serves the public by fostering continuous safety improvements in the production, distribution and use of chlorine and related chemicals.
Ms. Cirone joins CI with many years’ experience in health, environmental and safety management, including most recently as vice president of environmental health and safety compliance for RSR Corp., a lead-recycling operation based in Dallas.

“We are delighted to have someone with Terry’s vast experience and knowledge of environmental health and safety issues join our senior management team,” said CI President Frank Reiner. Ms. Cirone’s prior experience also included managerial jobs in environmental health and safety at Diamond Shamrock Chemical Co./Occidental Chemical Co. and Halliburton Energy Services.

Ms. Cirone has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the Worcester (Mass.) Polytechnic Institute and a law degree from the South Texas College of Law, Houston. She is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager and Environmental Auditor, and Registered Environmental Manager.

A Long Island, N.Y., native, Ms. Cirone currently resides in the Dallas suburb of Duncanville, but will relocate to the Washington area.
