Madrid, Spain, 19 December, 2011 – CEVA Logistics, a leading global supply chain management company, has been awarded AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) Certification for its operations in Spain.
The award is assigned to companies that are able to guarantee standards required by The European Economic Community (EEC) Authorities in regards to maintenance, finance, safety and security. Compliance with these standards has been verified through an official, independent one year audit, which confirmed CEVA’s eligibility to receive the certification.

The AEO standard was created by the European Union in order to enhance traditional customs controls and to reinforce the importance of the role of customs in security for the international logistics chain. With the certification, CEVA’s customers in Spain will now be able to benefit from smoother customs procedures and priority clearance on the import and export of their goods.

“Thanks to the AEO certification we can guarantee our customers more advantages when importing and exporting their products through our global, integrated network,” said Manuel Cendán, Customs Manager, CEVA in Spain. “Benefits such as priority clearances and less customs procedures will undoubtedly provide our customers with added value and provide CEVA with a competitive advantage in the market. The AEO certification is a key achievement for our business; it is not only proof of our commitment to Operations Excellence, it will help us consolidate our position in the logistics sector in Spain.”
